The MIT Stephen A. Schwarzman College of Computing, launched in 2018 to address the opportunities and challenges of the computing age, moved into its new building on MIT’s campus in 2023.
By design, the building is increasing opportunities for collaboration, with offices and research labs for new and existing faculty and visiting scholars. A 250-seat lecture hall, a 60-seat classroom, and tutoring suites hosts students and visitors from across the Institute. The building also includes MIT’s newest event space, eight stories up, drawing guests from the campus community and beyond. Located in the center of the Vassar Street block at the heart of campus, the building sits at a busy intersection of MIT’s intellectual traffic that brings together the college, multiple academic disciplines, and the bustling innovation community of Kendall Square. The location reflects the important role that computing plays at MIT.
